PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of fogging in development and a short- circuit accident in an electric circuit by holding contact pressure between the edge of a conductive member of a plate body or a rod body and electrostatic recording paper with the tension of the recording paper.

CONSTITUTION: The electrostatic recording paper 1 is carried with tension more than a fixed value between an electrostatic recording head 8 and a developing device 11, and on the way of carrying the rear face of the paper 1 is pressed and brought into contact with the edge of the lower side of a destaticizing member 18. The contact pressure is held by the tension of the paper 1 and a large contact pressure can be obtained. Since the contact pressure between the member 18 of the single plate body or rod body and the paper 1 is increased and sufficiently high destaticization can be attained, the generation of fogging in the development can be surely prevented and the generation of a short-circuit accident in the electronic circuit due to the removal of a destaticizing brush, etc., can be also prevented.
