Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify attachment and detachment of a main bearing cap to shorten time required for attachment and detachment of the main bearing cap and to provide excellent work procedure from the viewpoint of safety.
CONSTITUTION: This elevating device has a support rail 10 fitted between two transverse stiffeners of a frame box of an engine, and a tackle 24 longitudinally movable on the rail between a position close to the transverse stiffeners fitted with a main bearing cap, and a position facing an inspection opening. After lifting and detaching the bearing cap 4, the tackle 24 is moved together with the vertically suspended cap into the position facing the inspection opening. The cap can be lifted and moved by one tackle in a completely satisfactory manner in regard to safety.
