Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an electrode from being buried in a metal scrap and broken and prevent lowering steel yield efficiency due to breaking accident and increasing running cost.
SOLUTION: Electrode elevation devices L1, L2, L3 are controlled by a rapid pulling up circuit 30 of an elevation control unit 26, and electrodes E1, E2, E3 are rapidly pulled up. A rapid pulling up contact of the rapid pulling up circuit 30 is actuated ON when a rapid pulling up instruction is outputted and controlled so as to lift up the electrodes E1, E2, E3 rapidly. For example, when the rapid pulling up instruction is outputted to the first and second electrodes E1 and E2, and first and second pulling up contacts of the rapid pulling up contact are actuated ON, the first and second electrodes E1 and E2 are pulled up rapidly. A protection contact is actuated ON by permitting both rapid pulling up contacts to be actuated ON, a rapid pulling up instruction is outputted to the remaining electrode E3, and the electrode E3 is pulled up rapidly.
