The elevator group management controller has a car call registration section 4 which is provided for each of a plurality of elevator cars 1 vertically moving in an elevator shaft and registers a car call, an elevator lobby call registration section 5 registering an elevator lobby call, a unit controller 2 controlling an operation of the car 1, and a group management control section 3 optimizing an operation of the plurality of cars 1. The group management control section 3 has an elevator lobby call information management part 7 managing lobby call registration information from the elevator lobby call registration section 5, a simultaneous operation detector 9 detecting a simultaneous operation state, an elevator lobby call passage control part 10 performing assignment output prohibition control for at least one of the cars 1 subjected to call registration among the plurality of cars 1 determined to be in the simultaneous operation state, and an assignment control part 8 selecting the most appropriate car 1 from other than assignment prohibited cars and performing assignment control for the most appropriate car 1.
