A plurality of on-car conveyors 14, 15 spaced from each other in the direction of a height are provided in a car 10 to be elevated in an elevator shaft 1. An access 2 provided in the elevator shaft 1 is furnished with access conveyors 3, 6 corresponding to the on-car conveyors 14, 15, respectively. The dishes to be arranged and the plates after meals are carried in sections by the upper conveyor and the lower conveyor, respectively. Thus, sanitary inconveniences for the dishes to be arranged are avoided and such situations that the car 10 with non-existence of loaded articles is elevated are lessened, improving carrying efficiency.
