Abstract:
To provide an elevator capable of improving the convenience of users.SOLUTION: The elevator includes a plurality of brake units each having a brake for stopping a car and a detection device for detecting a state of the brake, a monitoring device for monitoring the failure of the brake based on information from the detection device, and a control device for controlling the operation of a car. The control device executes degenerative operation of the car based on the number of brake units, which are determined to be not in failure by the monitoring device, when the monitoring device determines that the failure occurs in any of the plurality of brake units.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
