PURPOSE: To prevent the hand or the like from being nipped between doors by forming a part of the door with a transparent part, while installing each of illuminating lamps, being lighted at time of up and down operations, in both upper and lower parts of a cage, and informing all passengers being on standby at the hall floor about the cage arrival in advance.

CONSTITUTION: A part of a door 6 installed between an elevator shaft 1 and each story floor 5 is formed with such a transparent part as a tetragon or the like. In the upper part of a cage 2, there is provided with an upper illuminat ing lamp 8 being lighted at time of up operation, and likewise a lower illuminat ing lamp 9 being lighted at time of down operation is installed in the lower part of this cage 2. Therefore passengers being on standby at each story floor 5 are able to know the arrival of the cage 2 surely in advance.
