PURPOSE: To prevent stain on both durm ends from forming black stripes due to transfer, by separating up copying paper from the drum with guides positioned a little above the outer circumference of the drum.

CONSTITUTION: Copying paper 9 exceding both ends of drum 1 moves forward in contact to guide plate 13, and after transfer, raised from drum 1 with separating claws 16, and drawn out round separating roller 15. Since the paper moves together with drum 1 with both the paper ends a little apart from drum 1, both the paper ends are separated from the end surfaces of drum 1. Accordingly, stain on the end surfaces not is transferred to paper 9, permitting black stripes occurring linearly in the direction of movement of paper 9 of electrostatic copiers to be prevented.
