Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure elongation of a link chain accurately and automatically, by detecting the rotation angle of a pair of sprocket wheels which are engaged with the link chain, correcting the errors caused by a bent chain, and calculating the elongation.
SOLUTION: An elongation measuring device for a link chain, which is used for a manufacturing process of a surface treated steel plate, comprises a pair of sprocket wheels 2, 3, for standard and comparison which are separated by distance almost corresponding to a measuring range. When a wheel 2 is engaged with a chain roller 10 and rotated with being engaged in, a wheel 3 succeedingly rotates. The elongation of the link chain in the measuring range is calculated based on the rotation angle which is detected by a rotation angle detecting sensor, and is printed out as required. Some link chain is bent by its friction. By forming an oscillating guide mechanism T which oscillates a guide part according to the bending through each bearing stand 57 of wheels 2, 3, a measuring error caused by the bending is corrected.
