Abstract:

To provide an embedded permanent magnet type rotor which can maintain mechanical strength by a reinforcement bridge while restraining the short circuit magnetic flux and a rotary electric machine comprising the embedded permanent magnet type rotor.

A rotor core 16 has gap portions 23 formed in respective positions closer to a q-axis than a first embedded hole 19. Each of the gap portions 23 is connected to the first embedded hole 19 and is composed of a first gap 21 extending from a magnetic end surface 17c of a first permanent magnet 17 to the q-axis and a second gap 22 farther from the first gap 21 to the q-axis side. A reinforcement bridge 25 is formed between the first gap 21 and the second gap 22, and the gap portion 23 is formed so that the shortest distance V from the magnetic end surface 17c to a q-axis side formation surface 21e of the first gap 21 which forms the side surface of the reinforcement bridge 25 meets 1/3T<the shortest distance≤T.
