To provide embossing amount adjusting method and device for a relief printing machine, the automatic adjustment of the printing pressure between a relief printing plate cylinder and an impression cylinder of which can be automatically adjusted in response to the measured amount of embossing by measuring the amount of embossing.
In the relief printing machine equipped with the relief printing plate cylinder 3 to which ink is supplied, the impression cylinder 2 which is opposite to the relief printing plate cylinder and holds a paper W on which the ink is supplied from the relief printing plate cylinder, and a printing pressure adjusting means consisting of an eccentric bearing 5, a link mechanism 6 and a motor 7 or the like for adjusting the printing pressure between the relief printing plate cylinder and the impression cylinder, a back side distance measuring equipment 44 consisting of a laser displacement meter for measuring the amount of embossing of the paper printed by the relief printing machine or the like is equipped so as to measure the amount of embossing of the paper W printed by the relief printing machine in order to control the printing pressure adjusting means by the measured amount of embossing.
