CONSTITUTION: A rotating direction position controlling means is placed between each looper 125 and a follower gear 27 for engaging the looper with a driving gear. The rotational direction position of each looper is independently settable to the position for ring sewing and the position for loop sewing by the rotating direction position controlling means when the looper reaches a needle-dropping position to engage the follower gear with the driving gear and rotate the follower gear synchronously with the vertical reciprocating motion of a hook needle 11.
