Title:
EMERGENCY DEMAGNETIZING DEVICE FOR MAGNETIC LEVITATION TRAIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3836700
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce force working to the left and right when a quench occurs on either of the superconducting coils located on the left and right.
SOLUTION: A plurality of permanent current switches 31-34 provided on the superconducting coils 21-28 forms a closed circuit. If a quench occurs in one of the superconducting coils, for example coil 21, force working to the right and left will not be generated since the current flowing in the superconducting coils 21, 22 to the left and right is identical. At the same time, the number of permanent current switches is reduced so that the probability of a quench caused by a permanent current switch is lowered.
