Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shut off a desired emergency shut-off place of a fluid transfer pipe with gas or liquid as transferred fluid almost manually as a shut-off means other than a gate valve and a switching valve.
CONSTITUTION: An annular drilling edge is provided at the lower end of a pipe-like shank body 4 having an operating handle 7 at the upper part. A shut- off plug 3 larger in diameter than the drilling edge 2 is concentrically mounted on the periphery of the shank body 4, with the lower end of the plug 3 positioned through the set distance from the tip of the drilling edge 2. A hole 8 for communicating the inside and outside of the shank body 4 is bored at the middle of the shut-off plug 3 and the drilling edge 2, and an air-sac 5 with a diameter larger than the inner diameter of a transfer pipe to be closed is folded and stored in the shank body 4. An air feed pipe 6 utilized as an operating piece that can freely go in and out of the hole 8 in the stored form is connected being airtightly inserted through inside the shank body 4 and led outside from the shank body 4 in an upper position than the installed position of the shut-off plug 3 so as to be connected to a high pressure inert gas supply source 21.
