PURPOSE: To provide the empty can recovering device which can sort empty cans made of aluminum and empty cans made of steel and can recover these empty cans.

CONSTITUTION: An inclined introducing passage 4 into which the empty cans 2A made of aluminum and the empty cans 2B made of steel are charged is provided to extend diagonally downward. An electromagnet 10 is provided freely movably along the inclined introducing passage 4 and a hole part 7a for the aluminum cans communicating with an aluminum can recovering section 5 is provided in the lower part in the mid-way part of the inclined introducing passage 4. The point on the downstream side of the hole part 7a for the aluminum cans of the inclined introducing passage 4 is communicated with the steel can recovering section 6. A deenergization switch 14 which cleenergizes the electromagnet 10 when the empty cans 2B made of steel move to the downstream side of the hole part 7a for the aluminum cans of the inclined introducing passage 4 is provided.
