Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an emulsion resin composition excellent in film forming properties, adhesiveness, hydrolysis resistance, etc., and useful for coating materials, adhesives, fiber processing agents, etc., by polymerizing a radical- polymerizable monomer in the presence of a specified polyurethane emulsion. CONSTITUTION:At least one radical-polymerizable monomer (e.g. butyl acrylate) is polymerized in the presence of an emulsion of a polyurethane comprising a polycarbonate polyol (e.g. polycarbonate polyol of 1,6-hexanediol), an organic di-isocyanate (e.g. hexamethylene diisocyanate) and a chain extender (e.g. hexamethylenediamine).
