To provide an encrypted communication method and a communication device for reducing the load on a CPU by detecting the existence of encrypted information and setting an interval for resending data to the time as long as required for the negotiation of the encrypted information when the encrypted information does not exist.
In the encrypted communication method for encrypting and transmitting transmission data created on the basis of the operation of an application program, whether encryption of the transmission data is necessary or not is decided on the basis of a security policy wherein rules for the application of encryption processing are established. When it is decided that encryption is necessary but encrypted information for encryption processing does not exist, the information indicating the absence of the encrypted information is transmitted to the application program, and the negotiation of the encrypted communication is performed between another device which is the destination of the transmission data to create the encrypted information. When the existence of the encrypted information is detected and the encrypted information does not exist, the load on the CPU is reduced by setting an interval for resending data to the time as long as required for the negotiation of the encrypted information.
