The end-face protective layer for the glass plate uses a sealing material and covers the end face of the glass plate. The end-face protection layer is formed by parallelly arranging a protective plate with an interval from the end face of a glass plate and filling the sealing material in a formed gap. The protective plate is made of a transparent resin, and the sealing material is made of a transparent silicone sealant. Thereby, the end-face protective layer is made transparent, and the appearance is made inconspicuous.
