Title:
END PORTION FIXING METHOD FOR STEEL WIRE GROUP EXCELLENT IN FATIGUE CHARACTERISTIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5989816
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To moderate stress concentration and to heighten fatigue strength by using a socket gradually decreasing in thickness for each inserting end portion of steel wire group and low melting-point alloys or adhesives for joining the inner surface of the socket and the steel wires or the steel wires one another. CONSTITUTION:A socket decreasing in thickness extending a length l one and a half times as much as a bottom thickness t0 of the socket is used for a steel wire inserting end portion. Steel wires forming a steel wire group are joined one another by low melting-point alloys, and the inner surface of the socket, especially the thinner inner surface of the forward end of the socket and the steel wires contacting the inner surface are joined to one another to perfection by low-melting point alloys. Thus, stress is smoothly transmitted from the steel wire group to the socket when external force is applied at the time of use, so that no stress concentration portion 4 is not produced at the steel wire group near the fixing portion. Therefore, the fatigue strength is remarkably increased.
