Abstract:
To provide an end surface processing device and an end surface processing method which permits end surface processing of a metal plate by means of a press brake which does not require a hole and does not restrict dimensions of a metal plate.SOLUTION: A punch 2 and die 3 of a press brake which insert a metal plate between them and presses the metal plate from surface and back surface thereof are provided with straight line-shaped step parts 21 and 31 for performing end surface processing while causing the straight line-shaped step parts to abut on straight line-shaped end part S of the inserted metal plate 1 and projections 22 and 32 for forming a groove 11 on a position provided with a predetermined distance from the end part S of the metal plate 1. The projections 22, 32 are belt-like bodies arranged in parallel to the step parts 21, 31 and have acute tips and, further, the projections 22, 32 are projected more than abutting parts B1, B2 with the metal plate 1, of the step parts 21, 31, the projections 22, 32 press the metal plate 1 from both sides and form the groove 11 and, at the same time, the step parts 21, 31 abut on the end part S of the metal plate 1 and perform end surface processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
