PURPOSE: To aim at improvement in the operation efficiency of a winder, by making a winding unit in stoppage as impossible of ending perform it forcibly with a command out of the side of a truck.

CONSTITUTION: When end breakage occurs during winding and it has no success even of doing the specified number of ending operations, an ending impossible displaying button 11 and an auxiliary button 21 of the winding unit 2 come to a projecting position (a). Under this state, when a truck 3 arrives at this position and each button position is detected by sensors 30 and 31, it is stopped, and a pressing plate 40 at the tip of an arm 17 thrusts in these buttons 11 and 21 simultaneously with operation of an ending command solenoid 38, thus the ending operation is carried out. Here, if this ending fails to be done and the button 11 is reprojected, in this case, even if an arm at the truck side further presses a button 11a, there is a little chance of success in the ending, so that an ending command by the truck 3 is no longer carried out. Thus, winding operation is resumed without waiting for the handling of an operator, so that the operation rate of a winder is improved.
