To enhance resistance to flex fatigue or abrasion by composing a tread of a caterpillar of a rubber composition comprising a cis-1,4-polybutadiene, a natural 1,4-polyisoprene, a reinforcing filler containing carbon black and precipitated silica, and the like.
A tread is composed of a rubber composition comprising an elastomer comprising about 15 to about 40 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the elastomer (phr), of a cis-1,4-polybutadiene rubber, about 60 to about 85 phr of a natural cis-1,4-polyisoprene rubber, about 40 to about 80 phr of a reinforcing filler comprising about 35 to about 65 phr of carbon black and about 3 to about 20 phr of precipitated silica with a carbon black/silica ratio of about 4/1 to about 7/1, about 0.75 to about 1.5 phr of a S curing agent, a sulfeneamide S curing accelerator and about 4.5 to about 10 phr of an anti-decomposing agent, provided that the carbon black has an iodine value of about 115 to about 130 g/kg, a DBP value of about 105 to about 125 cm3/100 g and a tinting value of about 120 to about 140.
