Abstract:
To provide an endoglucanase which is useful for the napping reduction, touch improvement, appearance improvement, color clarification and color local change of cellulose-containing yarns, employment in detergent compositions, the deinking of waste paper, the freeness improvement of paper pulp, and the like.
The new endoglucanase MTE1 is isolated and purified from Myriococcum thermophilum. In addition, a gene encoding the endoglucanase MTE1 is isolated and then expressed in a host such as Humicola insolens or Trichoderma viride.
