Abstract:
There are provided an endoscope system and a method of operating the endoscope system that can switch a mode to a multi-light emission mode without imposing a burden on a user in a case where a mode is switched to a mono-light emission mode where only specific illumination light is emitted from a multi-light emission mode where an object to be observed is illuminated with a plurality of types of illumination light while the plurality of types of illumination light are automatically switched.In a case where a predetermined mono-light emission switching condition is satisfied and a mode is thus automatically switched to the mono-light emission mode from the multi-light emission mode, a mode is automatically switched to the multi-light emission mode from the mono-light emission mode in a case where a preset multi-light emission restart condition is satisfied.
