PURPOSE: To obtain an endoscope in which the light receiving area of a connecting end face of a light guide connector part is increased, and optical axes between each connection end face are easily aligned with each other by forming the connector part of the light guide with the integral welding of an optical fiber by melting of a clad part.
CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber 10 is constituted of a core part 11 for transmitting light, and a clad part 12 made of glass for covering this core part 11 and preventing the leakage of light. Also, such many optical fibers 10 are welded integrally by melting of the clad part 12, and a rigid part 31 is formed. Accordingly, the connecting end face in the connector part of a light guide 30 is constituted of the molten clad part 12, and many core parts 11 scattered therein. In this case, since the clad part 12 has a light receiving property, the light receiving area of the light guide 30 in the connecting end face of the connector part of the endoscope is increased, and optical axes between each light guide 30 is easily aligned with each other.
