PURPOSE: To absorb the energy in the event of a trouble to avoid head injuries by that a mounting device of a transparent thermoplastic grazing material having a specified modulus of elasticity, thermal expansion coefficient, continu ous working temp. and abrasion resistant hard coating allows this material to shift from the plane of a window opening.
CONSTITUTION: A window module has a thermoplastic sheet-like window body 4 the surface of which is covered with an abrasion resistant coating 10. A notch 9 is provided in the plastic grazing material 4 in combination with a tape 16, this combination allows the window to project from the window frame opening. Even if an occupant impacts the window, it is never broken. The thermoplastic resin has a modulus of elasticity of about 2.0-4.2 GPa, a room temp. thermal expansion coefficient of about 4-8×10-5 cm/cm/°C and a continuous working temp. of about 70°C or higher, when using an acrylic thermoplastic material.
