Date Nov. 2, 1995The present invention proceeds from an engine brake for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine with decompression valves actuatable by pressurization of hydraulic pistons outside of the exhaust stroke of the working piston of the internal combustion engine, in particular at the end of the compression stroke. A radial piston pump is provided with internally supported radial pistons. The pump housing has a first housing section with the radial pistons, and a space for the eccentric which controls the radial pistons and a second housing section with the control outputs. Two distributor disks of the distributor unit are displaceably sealed off axially with respect to each other, the first distributor disk which separates a first pressure zone within the first housing section and a second pressure zone between the two housing sections from each other being adapted to be pressed axially against the first housing section and the second distributor disk which connects a control output in each case only with one pressure zone being adapted to be pressed axially against the second housing section.
