The engine control device includes: a fuel injection means 2 injecting fuel into the cylinder 20 of an engine 10; a detection means 9 detecting temperature of the catalyst 22 interposed in the exhaust passage 21 of the engine 10; and a control means 3e lowering the injection pressure of the fuel injected by the fuel injection means 2 when the temperature of the catalyst 22 is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature.
