To provide an engine intake device in which swirl strength is variable, while suppressing increase of an engine cost and reduction of intake air charging efficiency.
In this intake device, swirl ports 9b, 10b are connected to cylinders 5, 7 respectively, wherein combustion order does not continue. The upstream end part sides of the respective swirl ports 9b, 10b are collected to a collecting part 12 formed between adjacent cylinders, while the downstream end part sides are bent in the direction wherein the downstream end sides separate from swirl ports of the adjacent cylinders from the collecting part 12, and are connected to the respective cylinders 5, 7. A collecting part 16 or an intake passage 2b on the upstream side is disposed with an intake control valve 17. Accordingly, because the swirl ports 9b, 10b connected to the cylinders 5, 7 wherein the combustion order does not continue are collected, the reduction of the intake air charging efficiency caused by intake air interference between the cylinders 5, 7 is suppressed, while the intake control valve 17 is commonized to suppress the increase of the engine cost.
