Title:
ENGINE LUBRICATING STRUCTURE FOR OUTBOARD MOTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2970079
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an engine lubricating structure for an outboard motor which can obtain a satisfactory lubricating condition meeting to a large output by improving an oil discharging ability of a crank chamber while eliminating rotational friction of a crank shaft, and supplying a large amount of lubricating oil to each part of the engine, particulariy to a valve system.
CONSTITUTION: In an engine lubricating structure of an outboard motor, an oil collecting chamber 65 is formed by partitioning one space in a water jacket 52 around a lowermost cylinder 23d by means of a partition wall 64. The oil collecting chamber 65 is opened to a lowermost crank chamber 19d and an oil pan 12, and thereby a crank chamber main oil discharge passage 27 is formed. A crank chamber side opening 66 of the oil collecting chamber 65 is formed on a portion where lubricating oil sprashed by a centrifugal force of a lowermost crank wheel is collected. Crank chamber sub-oil discharge passages 28, 29 are provided for penetrating an oil pump 53 arranged between an engine 5 and an engine holder 3, and a left side mount bracket 57, for instance, and for communicating the lowermost crank chamber 19d with the oil pan 12.
