Abstract:
PURPOSE: To correctly detect engine output by constituting the engine so that rotational movement of a magnetic body fitted to a member rotating in one body with an output shaft such as a crankpin is detected by a magnetic sensor.
CONSTITUTION: An engine for a model aircraft is provided with a piston 12 reciprocatably arranged in a cylinder 11, the reciprocation of the piston at operating the engine is transmitted to a crank 16 through a crankpin 18 so as to rotate the crank 16. Outside the crankcase of such engine, a magnetic resistance element 32 as a magnetic sensor is provided in the projecting part 19b of a cover plate 19 fitted in the opening part 13a of the crankcase. This magnetic resistance element 32 is arranged on the cover plate 19 so as to oppose to the upper part of the rotational movement territory of the crankpin 18 sandwiching the cover plate 19 between, a signal of one pulse is generated by approach of a magnetic body 31 due to one rotation of the crank 16 by means of the magnetic resistance element 32, and the generated pulse signal is utilized for controlling the engine.
