Abstract:

To provide constitution capable of omitting a special detected body for detecting a crank angle to shorten the full length of an engine, in an engine revolution detector.

This engine revolution detector has a flywheel 2 provided in an engine crank shaft 1, a ring gear 3 provided in the flywheel 2, and a starter pinion 7 meshed with gear teeth 4a/4b of the ring gear 3 and driven by a starter motor. A magnetic sensor 5 is also provided to detect passing of the gear teeth of the ring gear 3. In the ring gear 3, the gear teeth 4b opposed to the magnetic sensor 5 when the engine crank shaft 1 is located in a prescribed rotational phase are constituted as nonmagnetic gear teeth, and residual gear teeth 4a are as magnetic gear teeth.
