To provide an engine start control device and an engine start control method improving startability and capable of surely starting an engine.
An engine start control device capable of starting an engine by a recoil starter device 16 includes a power generation circuit G generating power by starting operation of the recoil starter device 16, an engine start circuit S connected to the power generating circuit G and having apparatus necessary for engine start connected thereto, and an accessory circuit A connected to the engine start circuit S and provided with apparatus not necessary for engine start. Electric power is supplied to the engine start circuit S from the power generation circuit G under a condition that electric power supply to the accessory circuit A is stopped.
