Abstract:

To provide an engine starting control method for a hybrid vehicle, which minimizes vibration in an engine during starting so that the engine may smoothly start.

The engine starting control method for the hybrid vehicle includes a starting motor for starting an engine and a driving motor for driving a vehicle. The control method comprises the steps of: accelerating the rotation of an engine to be started after the stop; determining whether a current speed of the engine is higher than a set value; injecting fuel into the engine when the current speed of the engine is greater than the set value; determining torque of the starting motor based on a target speed of the engine; and controlling the speed of the engine based on the determined torque of the starting motor. The torque of the starting motor is determined by friction torque of the engine in the step of accelerating an engine to be started after the stop.
