Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starting system capable of easily performing driving allowance or driving stopping of an engine not by requiring a key and a key cylinder.
SOLUTION: The engine starting system is provided with a power source activation means; an engine control device 8; a propulsion body side instrument 2; a steering lock means; a warning means; a switch 31; and a portable machine 1. The portable machine 1 includes transmitting/receiving units 10, 11, a memory circuit 13; and a control circuit 12. The propulsion body side instrument 2 includes transmitting/receiving units 20, 21; a memory circuit 23; and a control circuit 22. The propulsion body side instrument 2 transmits a question signal to the portable machine 1 in response to an operation signal of the switch 31 and the portable machine 1 transmits a response signal corresponding to the question signal to the propulsion body side instrument 2. When the response signal corresponds to the question signal, the control circuit 22 performs allowance of unlocking of a steering lock means and starting of the engine and performs various kinds of actions according to the repeating operation number and an operation time of the switch 31.
