PURPOSE: To provide an intake system for a scooter type vehicle that is capable of restraining a linkage from protruding in both cross and longitudinal directions of a car body, and actualizing a compact setup inclusive of this linkage.

CONSTITUTION: In this linkage 6, its upper end is supported by a body frame 23 free of rocking motion, and it is provided with right and left link members 30 formed almost into a dogleg-shaped form at side view, supporting an engine free of rocking motion at the lower end, a cross member 31 being inserted into a link member central part being situated in the more body front than each vertical end of these right and left link members, while these fight and left link members are bent and formed in the lateral directions of a car body so as to make the lower end come to the inward of the car body, rather than the upper end, and a link stopper 38 consisting of an elastic material being engaged with the body frame side 39 and regulating motion of the linkage is attached to this cross member.
