Title:
ENGINE SYSTEM FOR HYBRID VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008002376
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an engine system for a hybrid vehicle adopting a technology that can inhibit degradation of performance of an exhaust emission controller even if scavenging control is performed during stoppage of an internal combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle.

An exhaust pipe 5 of an internal combustion engine 1 of a hybrid vehicle is provided with O2 sensor 12, an exhaust selector valve 10, a three-way conversion catalyst 17, and a bypass pipe 6 that bypasses the three-way conversion catalyst 17, and the bypass pipe 6 is provided with a sub-catalyst 16. During scavenging control by a motor generator 3, when the O2 sensor 12 detects that an emission gas rich in oxygen has passed, then the exhaust selector valve 10 is actuated to cause the emission gas to pass through the bypass pipe 6.
