Abstract:
To make fuel consumption performance and exhaust emission control performance compatible.SOLUTION: An engine system is equipped with an internal combustion engine 10, a gas turbine engine 40 that has turbines 46, 47, and 48, compressors 42, 43, and 44, and a coupling shaft 49, an electric generator 75 that is provided on the coupling shaft 49, a combustor 70, an injector 71 that can inject fuel into the combustor 70, an exhaust aftertreatment device 50, and a control portion 100. The control portion 100 controls the operation of the internal combustion engine 10 in a lean combustion mode, and injects fuel from the injector 71 into the combustor 70 to burn, thereby raising the temperature of exhaust flowing in the turbines 46, 47, and 48 and lowering the oxygen concentration of the exhaust flowing in the exhaust aftertreatment device 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
