Abstract:
To form an engine having a balancer shaft into a structure suitable for enabling use of common components between the engine and an engine that does not have a balancer shaft.SOLUTION: A balancer weight 19 has: an arm part 19a extending from a side of a bearing 24 to the radial outer side of a balancer shaft 18; and a weight part 19b disposed at the radial outer side of the bearing 24 and connected to an outer part of the arm part 19a. The bearing 24 is held by a bearing holding part 25 protruding from an end wall 20 to a crank chamber 12A. The end wall 20 has a recessed part 26 which stores the balancer weight 19. The recessed part 26 is disposed at an outer periphery of the bearing holding part 25. The balancer weight 19 is stored in the recessed part 26 so as not to protrude from the end wall 20 to the transmission case 21 side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
