Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material of an external preparation for skin for enhancing an enzymatic function to synthesize ceramide which is a component required for keeping the skin condition healthy.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a yeast extract having a function enhancing beta glucocerebrosidase, which is a key enzyme of ceramide biosynthesis, by imparting on the skin surface. The yeast extract comprising a pigment extracted from the yeast synthesizing a pigment is used as a component of an external preparation for skin or cosmetic. A yeast producing a pigment includes a yeast belonging to Rhodotorula.
