To provide an envelope sealing device etc. capable of sealing envelopes of a plurality of sizes and a plurality of types by a simple structure without the need of an operation such as checking and adjustment by an operator.
The device comprises: a conveyance means for conveying an envelope 20 which is placed thereon so that a flap is at the front; an uneven part detecting means for detecting an uneven part which is positioned in a boundary of the flap and a body without contacting with each other; and a reversing means 10 in which a first reversing plate 10a on which the flap part is placed and a second reversing plate 10c on which the body part is placed are coupled with each other with a reversing shaft 10b serving as an axis. When the uneven-part detecting means detects the uneven part of the envelope conveyed by the conveyance means, the conveyance means stops the conveyance of the envelope so that the uneven part may be at a position overlapped with the reversing shaft, and the reversing means turns the first reversing plate while using the reversing shaft as an axis and makes the first plate overlapped with the second plate, thereby folding back and pasting the flap which is placed on the first reversing plate to the body which is placed on the second reversing plate.
