To provide an environment control system (ECS) for supplying the adjusted air to a closed space.

This environment control system 10 comprises one or more liquid circulation sub-systems 14a, 14b and an air circulation (ACM) subsystem 12. The compressed air from an ACM compressor section is communicated to a reheater 34 and a condenser 38, and condenses and separates the water in a water extractor 40 to further cool the vapor-containing air. The dehumidifying air flows out from the extractor 40 and passes through an air-liquid heat exchanger 44 to absorb to first thermal load 48. The heating dehumidifying air recovers the heat energy from the heat exchanger 44, and is expanded in a first turbine 22. The expanded air passes through the condenser 38 and the reheater 34 to absorb the heat energy. The recovered heat energy in the expanded air is used in a second turbine 24 to improve the efficiency. The expanded air from the turbine 24 exchanges the heat with the second air-liquid heat exchanger 58 to absorb the second thermal load 62.
