Abstract:

PURPOSE: To omit requirement on an independent starting clutch, and to shorten the length along the shaft by the length of the clutch by providing the starting clutch for regulating engagement operation in series to an engagement element for regulating idling of an output side rotation member so as to transmit torque to the rotation member.

CONSTITUTION: In a starting standby condition, a front clutch C1 is engaged during progressing and a rear clutch C2 and a third brake B3 are engaged during regressing, while a starting clutch CS and an OD clutch C are released. Even when power is transmitted by an input shaft Xi, the sun gear So of an OD planetary gear PGo is idled, and no torque is transmitted to a ring gear Ro, and a vehicle is kept stopped. When the starting clutch CS is gradually engaged, a torque is applied in the direction that an OD one-way clutch FO is locked, the sun gear So is regulated. Thereafter, the sun gear So is rotated together with a carrier Co, while the ring gear Ro is driven, and power is transmitted.
