Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an epoxy resin composition capable of providing a hardened product excellent in weatherability, heat resistance and moisture resistance by including a specific hydrogenated epoxy resin and an epoxy hardener.
SOLUTION: This epoxy resin composition comprises (A) a hydrogenated epoxy resin obtained by hydrogenating an aromatic epoxy resin of the formula [(n) is 0-10] and containing ≥40 wt.% component of the formula in which (n) is 0, preferably dissolved in an ether-based solvent, in the presence of a catalyst of rhodium or ruthenium supported by graphite, and having 0.1-10 Pa.s viscosity at 25°C measured by an E-type rotary viscometer, and (B) an epoxy hardener (e.g. diethylenetriamine). The proportion of the compounded components A to B is preferably regulated within the range of 0.01-200 pts.wt. components B to 100 pts.wt. component A.
