Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for field flow fractionation with a channel module (2) comprising a separating channel, a holding device (3) for fixating the channel module (2) by means of fastening elements (8), wherein the channel module (2) comprises an upper part (4) and a lower part (5), and wherein between the upper part (4) and the lower part (5) a spacer defining the lateral dimensions of the separating channel is arranged, followed by an exchangeable membrane and a frit. In order to allow for an easy and fast exchange of the parts exchangeably arranged between the upper and lower part (4, 5) of the channel module (2), wherein an essentially better reproducibility of the measurement with the channel module (2) can be achieved as it is the case with known devices, the invention proposes to displace the pressure plate (8) of the holding device (3) abutting the bottom part (5) of the channel module (2) by means of a linear drive, that displaces an actuating device (12) in the direction of the longitudinal axis (100) of the device (1). The actuating device (12) acts via a thrust wedge (9) on the pressure plate (8), which then moves in the vertical direction and closes the channel module (2).
