Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the optical amplifier-doped fiber for an optical amplifier with which an arbitrary optimum fiber length is obtd.
CONSTITUTION: This erbium-doped fiber for the optical amplifier is constituted by setting the fiber length to be used in the fiber for the optical amplifier formed by doping the erbium to a single mode optical fiber consisting of a quartz glass system in such a manner as to satisfy equation Lxy=120±50dB [where L is the fiber length to be used; Y is the absorption (dB/m) per unit length at 1.53μm in loss wavelength spectra].
