PURPOSE: To perform a rapid and accurate work by a method wherein the image of a target mounted to a building material is detected by a vertical point monitoring device mounted to an existing building material, and based on detecting information, an erection machine is controlled to vertically connect the building materials to each other.
CONSTITUTION: A vertical point monitoring device A and a target 7 are mounted to steel pillars 1 and 2, respectively, and the collection reference position of the monitoring device A and the position of the pin hole of the target 7 are situated in the same position from the reference surfaces of the steel pillars 1 and 2. A suspension wire 8 is hooked to the upper end part of the steel pillar 2, and is moved to a given position by an erection machine. When the steel pillar 2 is moved to a position approximately right above the steel pillar 1 and is brought to a state approximately similar to a connection state, the image of the target 7 caught by the sensor of the monitoring device A is projected on a monitor 10. Further, the steel pillar 2 is lowered onto the steel pillar 1 for connection.
