PURPOSE: To improve the safety of passengers by providing a display device, for informing that a horizontal landing is not a getting off part, at a railing or above the horizontal device, provided at the intermediate part of an inclined body, for moving footsteps and moving handrails horizontally.

CONSTITUTION: The intermediate part of an inclined body 1 is provided with a horizontal landing 5 where footsteps 2 and moving handrails 4 move horizontally, and a display board 7 for displaying that this horizontal landing is not a getting-off part is provided above the horizontal landing 5. A passenger 8 on the footstep 2 can therefore be informed by the display board 7 that this horizontal landing 5 is not the getting-off part before reaching the horizontal landing 5 so as to correspond to the moving displacement of the step-like footsteps 2, thus preventing an accident such as a violent fall. This display can be also provided at the railing 3, at the part right in front of the horizontal landing 5, by which the same effect can be obtained.
