Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electronic control device that reduces as much as possible, while the electronic control device is on standby, power consumed in a reverse connection protection circuit, a computation device that controls the reverse connection protection circuit, and a power supply circuit that supplies power to the computation device. The present invention is provided with a switch-control switching element 16 that controls the operation of a reverse connection protection circuit 11, said circuit having an input side thereof connected to an in-vehicle battery and an output side thereof connected to a power supply circuit 12 that supplies power to a computation device. The reverse connection protection circuit 11 is set to an operation mode by the switch-control switching element 16 operating on the basis of an activation signal that arrives separately from the computation device 13, and the reverse connection protection circuit 11 is set to a non-operation mode by the switch-control switching element 16 operating on the basis of a reset signal from the computation device 13. Setting the reverse connection protection circuit to the non-operation mode results in power not being supplied to the power supply circuit and the computation device, thus making it possible to reduce power consumed in the reverse connection protection circuit, the computation device, and the power supply circuit.
