To provide an evaluation method for a functional paste capable of accurately evaluating the dispersibility of multiple types of inorganic powder contained in a coating film, and a production method for a functional paste using the evaluation method.SOLUTION: There is provided an evaluation method for a functional paste comprising at least, multiple types of inorganic powder, a binder resin and an organic solvent. The evaluation method includes: a step of applying and drying the functional paste on a substrate to form a coating film; a step of processing the coating film to expose a coating film cross-section; a step of observing the coating film cross-section with a microscope to obtain a microscope image; and a step of evaluating the dispersibility of inorganic powder in the coating film cross-section based on the microscope image. In the evaluation of the dispersibility of the inorganic powder, a) the position of each particle constituting inorganic powder is determined for each types of inorganic powder in the microscope image, b) based on the determined particle position, the Voronoi division is performed on the microscope image to define a section of each particle, c) the area of the defined section is obtained, and d) the coefficient of variation (CV value) of the area of the obtained section.is calculated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
